Home & Business is also on sale, $85.99 but only the download version is available not boxed. Seems odd.

Seems odd that we still have a boxed version honestly.

Turbotax premier 2024 was $64.99 at Costco (82.99-18), plus $10 credit. So this is not the best price.

This is partially true. You would have to manually enter certain forms where as the premier will do the Q&A interview type and automatically enter into forms for you. So depending on how you value the questions and having TT do it for you.

Same price as last year, but without the $10 Amazon gift card.

In my experience, the best prices on Turbotax always come after Christmas - late December or early January. Here is what I paid for Premier each year and when I bought it (from Amazon).:
2024: Jan 18, 2025 - $55
2023: Dec 27, 2023 - $55
2022: Dec 28, 2022 - $55
2021: Dec 29, 2022 - $45
Note that the prices can be confusing because they often bundle gift cards. So, for example, I think for 2024 I actually paid $65 but that was $55 for TurboTax and $10 for a $10 Amazon gift card.

Agreed but that's why I am skeptical about getting it at $55. It might be $62 this year which Costco is running already.

Deluxe still does the interview for these things. Premier supposedly has "more guidance" but I have never seen what that is exactly.

Home and Business from Amazon was $75.99 on Jan. 18 of this year with a $10 giftcard, so basically $65.99. That's currently $85.99 on Amazon, no giftcard. I think we may see better deals in January than now.

Supposedly the support for rental income isn't there for deluxe or not as good?

I switched to FreeTaxUsa last year and can't believe I've been wasting all this money on TurboTax for years. It's basically TurboTax with free Federal and $16 State filing (or free if your AGI is below $48k). It imported my return from TT last year. I easily copied/pasted my 1099 forms for stocks. It also caught something that TurboTax never did and gave me a higher return. A+ experience all around. Intuit has everyone brainwashed.

I did the same. Freetaxusa is so similar to TurboTax, which I've been using for 10+ years.
