I agree they are not good but they are good. I own all my appliances in my apartment, which are Samsung. So far, I've had positive experiences with them.

However, the previous Samsung refrigerator was a nightmare. It kept freezing all over and needed to be fixed five times before it stopped. Despite the repairs, the damage persisted.

I believe the quality of Samsung appliances varies. The newer models seem to work better. But I still consider having the warranty just in case.

That ice maker design is why. If it happens again, after it's fixed, a bead of food grade silicon along the wall and edge should permanently solve it. Or getting a. GE fridge.

I totally agree. That's why I went with the bespoke with the ice-maker in the button nothing in the top. Life saver.

Friends don't let friends buy Samsung or LG appliances. Stick with the phones.

I've had both a Samsung and a GE French Door fridge with ice makers in the door. The Samsung surely sucked after a few years and the back froze up and the ice maker stopped working. We replaced it with the GE (with the Slate finish -- loved it). But after a while, the ice maker started giving us problems too. It's like it can't keep it cold enough and the ice would start melting together, resulting in a blob of ice that we'd have to chip out.
We just got an LG counter-depth with no ice or water in the door (Lowe's Black Friday sale, FTW!). Ice in the freezer and filtered water just inside the door. Not as convenient, but *hopefully* less problematic. We've only had it for a few days, so you're gonna have to give me a few years before I start bitching about it, too!

Jumped on the deal and worth it! Its not top of line but good W/D and never had issue with Samsung and so far so good. Plus was weary of BestBuy delivery but worked out fine and quick.
