These things are great! Very nice and automatic and two separate bays to independently control so you can dry PLA in one side and PETG at a higher temp on other side. It also has automatic mode where it keeps one or both sides at a set humidity level by turning on and off automatically.

I have one and love it, but ordering from Aliexpress has been a pain, they canceled my last SpacePi order! I ended up ordering from amazon.

And watch out for the crap they are doing with charging as cash advances when using PayPal. I'm done with these "DEALS" from them till they fix this garbage way of doing business! NOT worth the $37 difference buying instead on Amazon. Fees, interest and just your time fixing this mess too!

I reached out to them earlier this week asking what was up with that as I got a $10 free on a purchase I made a few weeks ago. It was on a $100.97 purchase for an RC car.
This was their response:
"Hello, the issue of extra fees incurred when paying with PayPal has been fixed. Payments will no longer incur additional fees. The problem stemmed from conflicting rules between PayPal and banks. some users have already received refunds from PayPal or their banks now"

I have made two purchase since and neither had the extra charge.

85c is pretty good! my driers only go up to 70c, so i have to use an air fryer to dry PA filaments. 85C is probably still a little underpowered but expect it will hold filaments better. For reference, polymaker recommends 100c for 12 hours for their PA6-CF.

I'm new to 3D printing and I live in the Mojave desert. Is this something I'll ever realistically need?

I bought one of these the last time they were on sale, I love it. Wish I had gotten one sooner.

If you use a swamp cooler, yes. You might also get some filament wet out of the box, though I haven't experienced that personally.
