Was at the Tractor Supply. It's packaged in China with goods from Vietnam and mainland China. Not sure what that all means. I was hoping it's made in Taiwan. Ended up walking out not getting it.

Thanks, I was wondering if these were the ones made in Taiwan. It's a great price for a starter set still. I have all of these piece multiple times over so going to pass.

This is not really a good deal since most of the tools are just bits. I am starting t think that one of the basic metrics for tool and socket sets like this one is how much the set weighs. If it is too light, it must have a lot of bits, hex wrenches and other small tools in it to inflate the numbers. Per gearwrenchshop, this set weights 13.669 pounds. A 180 piece Crescent set (CTK180) I bought a while ago was more than 18 pounds. The tool list for this set is not available AFAIK. I will not travel to look at this set because I am not convinced it is a good value even at less than $50.

Not a good kit with all those bits. I'd say this is a decent standard price for this kit, $109 retail is way high. These are the bad 72t ratchets too, so it has GW name on it but quality is going to be the same as any cheap no brand China set.

In its defense, I don't really know of anything besides the Amazon Basics that's going to get you all 3 drive sizes at this price point. This is a zero on the deep sockets and it's not Taiwan Gearwrench, but ignoring the bits you're still getting 3 ratchets, 61 sockets, 6 wrenches, a few extensions. Apparently the Amazon Basics set, for all its sockets, is somewhat idiotically laid out with nothing over 19mm (?, correct me if I'm wrong, that's all I see). At least the Gearwrench has 20,21, 22, and the 24mm, which is particularly important for routine work on certain GM, Stellantis and BMW models due to the oil filter cannister. Lifetime warranty on Gearwrench,1 year on Amazon.

Definitely something to watch. Although the 192 piece Dewalt is closing in on 35-40 pounds, I don't remember exactly. To me it's pushing the limits of what a clamshell blow molded case can ergonomically handle. The tool box form factor exists for a reason.
