Works to reduce the time between when your dog may need a cleaning (brushing daily), but won't remove need for cleaning altogether.

Definitely highly recommended. I brush my dog with this probably on average 2 to 3 times a week but yeah eventually you still need to take your dog to the vet for the professional cleaning to get everything.Even humans have to do the same right? 😆

Always make sure to get the upper molars in the back and massage the gums. Daily brushing is better as plaque turns into tartar only after 2 days. Use a toddler toothbrush if smaller dog. Dogs like this flavor. You'll save money and protect your dogs teeth which also saves money long term tooth extractions cost $100-150 per tooth and improves quality of life for your dog. Finally dry food and dental chews like Kirkland dental chews is good.

Based on studies I believe they said using brush is the most important thing, paste itself is more fore helping the breathe and encourage pets with the taste.
Look for VOHC approved item for pet oral health

Yep, I've used it daily for 4 years and haven't had to have her teeth cleaned once by the vet.

I tell you dog paste is a rip-off. I buy the petrodex 6 and 1/2 oz poultry flavored just to put inside my dogs treats. So she chews on her Kong dental sticks and I tell you. Are you kidding me? I buy my my Phillips prescription strength fluoridex 1.1% sodium fluoride with potassium nitrate toothpaste for $13 for a seven 7 oz tube and that's the prescription. These dog toothpastes are ridiculous. $7 for 2.5 oz. That's nuts. It's insane for 15. Go with arm& Hammer instead. Don't buy anything virbac unless it's a flea collar

FYI in general:
With enzymatic toothpaste you actually don't need to do a full scrub, just need enough to get a light layer on the teeth and gums (can even use your finger if they hate the brush).

The idea is that the enzymes break down plaque-forming bacteria and debris. Works best when they don't have to eat for another while. Won't remove tartar (still need to do a cleaning for that) but it's preventative. Small dogs benefit even more from tooth brushing because food gets stuck more in their teeth.
