You can always save your data to an external drive but you cannot add more RAM. so a 32GB with base storage is better.
This right here -- 16gb of ram was allright....back in 2013. By 2015, all of our corporate machines had 32gb of ram in them -- you had to submit a special request to get less than that.
Here we are in 2025...and companies are trying SO HARD to gaslight us that 16gb of ram is acceptable. It isn't. They sell it only to brag that they have a machine that hits "arbitrary price point". An actually usable machine for the next 3-5 years? Yeah, that's another $400-800. Crack open that wallet!

Apple is way out of its mind. In 2025/26, they are selling 16GB for $1500. People should refuse to buy anything with a price point $1500 or more with less than 24GB RAM and 1TB SSD.
But.......🤓

Totally agreed, and I guess finally people are waking up to the Apple crap. At least you won't be getting 30 thumbs down from Apple fanboys these days.
Or maybe they might be sleeping once they wake up, they will thumb you down.
