If you're on a budget, I would buy the one on Amazon instead.

Save yourself $46 bucks...you can spent on other tools.
Most of the "300 Piece" sets have a lot of "filler" items, like tiny bits you'll probably never use.
Cheers! 🍻
Maybe add a set of pliers for $17 bucks and you got yourself a decent set.

Top it off with a set of 10 screwdrivers fro $10 bucks.

Now you're set... and still below $99 bucks.
Great deal!

I need to get a big set like this for a Christmas present. Is this a decent one to get? Was looking to spend under $120 if possible.

I would personally go with master force from menards or something similar. They have a lifetime warranty, and so far in my experience they honor it. I've exchanged socket wrenches, as well as pliers that have failed.

Too many bits counting as "pieces."

I have a similar set from a few years back around the same price. Tools are good but the case sucks big time. Too much friction on the side of the drawers.

I own this Walmart set and another set almost identical to the Amazon one. Honestly, both are good for 99% of what I need to do. Generally I reach for the smaller set since it's more portable. It's also a lot more convenient to toss in the car and drive out to help someone. The bigger set is nice for its drawers and bigger space. I've tossed a few extra things in there and rearranged it a bit so it fits me. Can't go wrong either way, but just wanted to mention that "portability" is an important feature of a smaller set.

What is it that you want to do with the toolset?

If you want a set that can tackle car repair, this set at Harbor Freight is on sale for $299. Yes, it's a lot more money, but an exceptional value with excellent tools that will let you do most car repairs without running out for more tools every time.
