Lot of reviews indicate these aren't reliable when compared side by side with airtags.

I figure if you're using these it's to track something you care about to some degree, so you probably don't want something that's not going to work consistently.

there is a good little youtube review on the drawbacks of the ugreen vs the apple airtags and it is the chip that ugreen does not use because it is proprietary apple hardware, the u1 chip. you lose out any semblance of fine point tracking.

Have used them to track my FIL who lives in assisted living and has dementia. (He's not ready for memory-care yet). He's got one on his wallet, one on his keys, and another on his phone (which he often turns off and then can't find). Also have one in my car, my keys, my medication kit, my wife has one on her keys, one on the dogs. They come in super handy. Just started using the Insignia branded ones from BestBuy and so far so good. All the others were the original AirTags and no complaints.

you nailed it, kids backpack etc however only airtag have precision find, these generic ones can show you where the item is last seen only, precision find will give you the steps to find the item once you get near the item

I have one placed in my wife's car, so I know when she is returning from a trip. I think we all feel the same.

That's my question as well. Generic, Apple, Samsung, Tile or...? I've read some are only good for a few hundred feet. Can someone make a recommendation?

I use tiles for my keys and wallet - dont need them much, but when you do, it's priceless. Usually in a rush and your keys aren't where you thought they were, or your wallet isn't where it always is.. now it's a 30 second issue, it used to turn into a 15 min panic and sometimes it was gone for days.

I bought some a while back made by Eufy. They only send a very weak signal for things like keys, wallets, etc you might have misplaced in your house. However, I'm taking a trip next year and trying to figure out which ones to buy for checked luggage. These?
