$1500 used to be regular price on these. I would know because I bought one at regular price a few years back.

FYI the free shipping threshold of $1500 is BEFORE the 30% discount, so basically any Aeron configuration is eligible for the free shipping. This is about as good of a deal as I've seen over the last few years.

That's when I bought but I bought the embody and it was 11 or 1200 if I remember right. I hated it so I sent it back and bought an aeron but I couldn't get the special anymore so I paid regular price which was around 1500 bucks.

I think I paid $1250 for my Logitech Embody chair several years ago. This price seems high to me but I haven't paid attention since I bought mine.

When did an Aeron become the same price as an Embody? Anyways, I have an Embody at home, use Aeron at work, much prefer the Embody

Yeah, this is nuts. I'm not saying Aeron isn't a good chair, but for the price, the Hyken is an insanely good value and like 95% as comfortable unless you're large perhaps. A Hyken seat will last you a good 4 years with 8 hours a day of office work. Not that it becomes unusable, but it will become a bit more pouch like at that point - good enough as a secondary task chair elsewhere. I've been perfectly happy with Hykens for our office chairs for going on year 12 now. Both chairs absolutely mog any cushion style chair, forget about all those gimmicky faux leather $500 chairs with 20 levers and 100 positions.

It used to be something like $22 a year if you replace every 4 years buying during black friday deals. Now it's probably closer to $30 a year. If we're being generous, a brand new Aeron seat will last you 12 years, so $125 a year if you get it on a similar sale.

Of course, there are a lot of variables and nuance here, but you often don't find cheap products that get as close to luxury brands as something like the Hyken. I'm constantly shocked that they don't jack up the prices due to their popularity and quality.

tl;dr Aerons are great, but if you want to save $1300 dollars and get a chair that's practically the same thing forthe average person, I strongly recommend considering a Hyken instead so long as the price doesn't skyrocket and quality doesn't take a nosedive. IIRC the main thing people dislike about a Hyken is it they have fat legs, the base of the chair may not be wide enough to accommodate - I think Staples has a wider mesh chair that is a bit more expensive, I can't recall the name of it at the moment.

Why missing the head stand? I can't see any option to add it?

So what's a bargain price point on the regular/normal-sized Hyken?

If you don't mind used... many local businesses sell these chairs when they go out of business for $150-$250 a pop.

The new Aerons are also made with recycled materials. Hard pass.

In case you are from bay area, can you suggest any local around that price? I was looking for one but most ask for 700-800 for used one from liquidation.

That's wild. I'm from NYC and I see them on Craigslist and Facebook marketplace all the time. There's a used furniture store near me that sells them for $350. $700 is way too much

This compared to the Haworth Fern, which is $993 on Amazon (-20% off sale)?
