I have had this coffee grinder for years and love it. I finally gave up on the Bodium and OXO and went for this. It has lasted longer and I like the digital timer.

This got way too long . . .
I picked up this Virtuoso+ in September, same deal from Amazon, to replace my older Virtuoso. That older one still runs fine and has served me well for eight years but it was discontinued in 2022 (I think) and parts for it are becoming harder to find, if you can find them at all. I wanted the kit to upgrade to the newer burr but that has been 'out of stock' for quite some time now.
So I jumped on this deal and I'm glad I did. While I have been happy with the old Virtuoso all these years I was pleasantly surprised with the difference the new upgraded burr that comes on the Virtuoso+ makes, probably in part because the old burr was worn out. It's quite noticeable, at least to me. And the Virtuoso+ also is quieter which is nice.
One of the nice things about Baratza is that they sell almost every part on their grinders so if anything breaks or wears out you can order replacements. Something to be aware of is that certain parts in the grinder are designed to sacrifice themselves to protect other more important and expensive parts. Like what might happen if a small stone or hard seed or something else gets into your coffee beans and jams the burrs and damages other parts in the grinder. The documentation for the Virtuoso+ identifies the parts that are susceptible to this so that you can order them to have on hand in case you ever need them.

What is it about the ESP that it can't do regarding grinding that the Virtuoso can?

The Virtuoso has more features but as far as grinding, doesn't the ESP have a broader range since it can do both regular/pourover and espresso?
