What does it mean? Automotive sandable primer is it thicker and shinier? Does it cover imperfections better? I was thinking about getting it from my mailbox for the first coat

I usually use this one which costs more, but dries and ready to sand in 30 minutes. It saves a ton of time, especially when you sometimes need to repeat the sanding and filling process multiple times to get a completely smooth surface.

If you're not aiming for perfection and dont mind waiting longer between coats, then it'll work fine and is a good cheap option.

Actually I take that back. I thought this was the filling primer.

As a regular primer, I don't see the purpose on 3d prints, especially when you can just use a Paint+Primer which costs about the same and skip the primer step. All you gotta do is lightly scuff the print to make sure it bonds well.

If you're trying to smoothen out a print, you'll need to use their Filling primer.

If your mailbox is metal this will work fine as a primer, but sanding is your best bet to remove the imperfections.

I used the last of the can I had (in white) to cover a water stain on the sheetrock in my garage prior to painting over.. worked like a champ LOL (can be used on more than cars as I had no Kilz on hand).. other than that, the white can was fantastic for priming a white bumper cover before painting with perfect match on an older Honda. Can't even tell it was DIY painted
