Despite what some think, this is still the most "Star Trek" of all the Star Trek films. It's a terrific, thoughtful story.

A steal for any Trek fans still holding out. Sound and picture are top notch. Crank it for the departing drydock scene.

Just watching it for the first time in decades, the movie is a lot better than I remember.

Agreed esp . for ole timers & original crew.

However, I like the Chris Pine 1st movie too.

The director saw the future while making this. Voyager 1 is sending back mysterious signal.

It's a good movie with like three or four overlong scenes that people remember. One of the good things about this version is there is a tightening of a few of those scenes.

The original - non director's cut was bad to me.

But I hear good things about this - it's in my cart now.

I remember watching this for the first time on HBO as a kid, and being blown away at the reveal at the end. So totally plausible.
