It's an underpowered 5060 topped out at 80w. So still better than 5050 but not as strong as standard 5060. This is the biggest downside. Expect it to perform similarly to a 4060. If this weren't the case, I would have pulled the trigger myself

Any of you looking to buy a laptop, I bought a really good lenovo, and I failed to clean out the fans, and now I'm having to replace the vapor chamber which is basically the heat spreader for the cpu. Taking it apart and cleaning out those fans every 6 months or less is incredibly important.

Don't buy Gigabyte, do buy MSI instead. Thank me later.

Not MSI Gaming laptops. Gigabyte has mediocre and uneven build quality, but MSI gaming laptops are and have been junk for a decade now. It's baffling because the rest of their laptops are great, but the gaming line can't make a non junk laptop it seems. Like the 3+k MSI Titan 18" laptops have worse build quality than a Lenovo LOQ or HP Victus. It's insane.

I've never heard of that being necessary. You must have a dusty house

The max power of the GPU is 85w instead of 115w. It has significantly less power than a fully powered 5060
You're describing how all mobile gfx cards work.

No, a fully powered mobile 5060 is 115w. The desktop version is 145w

This. My company bought a MSI gaming laptop and it absolutely sucks. Slow, heavy and it overheats.

No they aren't. Most 5060 laptops peak at 115watts. This one is likely skimping on cooling so they lowered the max tdp.

Depends on your house (Dusty/animals that shed), but yeah heat is the thing that kills electronics. Most people probably only need to do so once a year or two. Other big thing is if you are using it, have a lapdesk or something to keep it off mattresses, covers, etc where it won't have good airflow.

I know this is a great price but for those really looking to game, 8gb of ram is not enough for 2023 let alone the present or the future.

The best deal out there that's still available is either the $1200 5070 Lenovo legion on lenovos website or the $1000 Lenovo legion 5060 sold by antonline at Walmart and eBay. They have great OLED screens and fully powered gpus. If you need more ram or SSD, you can watch a 5 min YouTube video and do it yourself

Dell/AW warranty is top notch.
Their software is not great and is buggy. They also will abandon firmware updates or firmware update and "lock" you into undesirable settings, unable to revert back. I think they make the best gaming laptops, and I've had several, but my trust in them is waning. I've had a number of AW machines over the years.

My recent experience: I have the M18R1 AMD and it thermal throttles like crazy because of a AMD firmware decision that chokes the CPU because it thinks the chassis is hot (even when it isn't). Dell firmware'd out the fix and won't let you revert if you upgraded. I don't know if I can buy another. At the very least, stick with Intel so you have more control over voltage and stuff.
