I have an elderly sister that has become 100% wed to a 2021 Fire 10 HD tablet (3Gb/32Gb) I gave her for Christmas of that year. It has more than enough utility and power for her usage and, most importantly, absolutely can not live without a voice activated assistant. It very much looks to be suffering a failing GPU so would like to upgrade her this year.
I'd like to gravitate her to an Android device where she can either learn to like Gemini or we can install an Alexa app. I'd like to find a sub $100 replacement and am soliciting advice and/or suggestions. Less bloatware and a current OS would be a big improvement to Fire's always overloaded and dated OS offerings. I have no problem with going with the likes of any of the tablets sold on Amazon that have names understood by only a few.
I have a Tab A9+ and find it to be a great deal for my casual use (PC is my workhorse) but feel even that would be overkill for her. Was thinking something like this JJGJ tab [amazon.com] could be a decent option.
Any insights or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
