Yup! And once customer support sends the email saying, "You broke the sticker, warranty void," you just have to PDF all the emails and open a ticket with the FTC for a warranty violation. It may take a bit of time, but they'll directly contact Seagate and let them know they're breaking the law and threaten to leverage fines. You'll get your warranty repair after that. It's not worth paying their lawyers to dispute it.

You're right. But all you have to do is mention the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act and they will make a "one time exception". WD tried to denied my warranty for a shuck drive and I just replied back saying that they are violating the Magnuson-Moss warranty act and then they immediately responded with a tracking for replacement drives. https://imgur.com/a/wd-2Nu7RpS here's screenshot of the emails for anyone believe this isn't true.

Shucking does not void the warranty, no matter how much companies claim it does. The FTC has issued repeated warnings to companies to stop claiming it.

These are TERRIBLE for 24/7. Mine failed after less than one-half year.

Barracuda drives. Shucking voids the warranty. Also I hate how much needless plastic junk they throw into the box, the external power supply comes with adapters for every socket on earth. Feels like a big middle finger to the environment.
