Of course it's a rebrand, all Insignia products are. I don't know about this one specifically, but other washers of theirs were made by Midea. The reviews on this look too good for that to be the case, though.

Made by Midea, good luck finding parts if you ever need them.

I had one similar to this, and while I was able to source parts (yes, Midea parts), not easily, the construction of the device is cheap and is not very amenable to servicing even if you have the parts and in the fortunate case where the existing parts are not too worn out yet. I would advise going up in quality at least to an Amana washer. The alternative, at least until about a year ago, was to get this at the lowest price (slightly below $300) and expect it to work for 3 years, in what is effectively $100 annual rent, charged upfront. Or give up and buy a used one that works, if you are strapped for cash.

If you're able to pickup, check FB Marketplace. You can find top loaders for about $150 or so.

don't buy the insignia, the wire is badly assemble and can come loose at any time. This was washer was can be had at bestbuy for $270 a year or two ago. Also there are flood of machine at those wholesaler that sale scratch and dents, probably from customer return and bestbuy know there are problems with them.

Here is youtube video how bad the machine is.

I don't want any washer or dryer less than 30 years old. My Maytag from the '90s which I bought 15 years ago, used, off Craigs List, for $35(with the dryer) just went down for transmission trouble. I replaced it with my old whirlpool, that the Maytag replaced 15 years ago because I replaced the dryer as it had some rust on top. I also still have that dryer, which I will use again, with the rusty top. Over 20 years, I replaced about $200 in parts, and will keep fixing them until the end. When I'm gone the merry widow can buy a new A.I. set with some of the insurance money. The new "Smart " washer can then tell her she is over stuffing it, like I've been saying since AOL was what all the cool kids were using.
