Pro tip, make sure you fill the canister with boiling (or near boiling) water before packing with food. If you preheat the inner metal surfaces it hold temperature much much longer. I've done this with my rtic food canister for years.

While this could be great for 2 servings, you may prefer to spread your calories out with more variety. Even though I can easily eat 600 calories and can go to 1200 with a little effort, I find even a 20oz vacuum food jar to be plenty, and usually just go w/ 16oz and have other kinds of food/sides to match. Just taking Dinty Moore beef stew 38 oz can as an example, the 36 oz volume Stanley jar can hold almost all of that Dinty Moore can for about 900 calories, and even if you poured out a portion into a bowl and reclosed it immediately you'd lose a good amount of heat.
