V12 is not compatible with accessories from other models. I have the V12 and started having issues just after a year. It keeps turning off after a few seconds and it takes 10-12 tries before it stays on. Apparently, it's a common issue with this model. I thought I'll swap it out with a V15 body, but it's not compatible with the attachments

Are you able to turn off the roller brush on any of these? I have a couple of rugs that get eaten alive by my Shark (pun intended) and I'm also trying to take it easy on some new wood floors. Seems like most manufacturers say to turn the brush off on vacuums for vacuuming wood floors, yet most of the ones I look at, it's not an option. lol.

Had this issue with the V15. Dyson sent a replacement body. Process was relatively painless, but a little concerning about the defect.

I preferred the v12 overall. I really don't like the trigger on the V15. The lighter weight on the v12 also makes it easier to vacuum hand held with small attachment. For like vacuuming blinds, couches, table tops, etc. One major downside to the v12 is the dust holder. Because the v15 is bigger, it has a larger "reservoir" to hold more dust and hair. With the v12, dust fills quicker and therefore long hairs start winding around the cylinder body area. This reduces the suction power and forces you to take the dust bin off to get the now hair tangled mess around the cylinder body.

The soft roller is what you'd use for the hardwood floors. Unsure if there's a way to turn off the brushed roller, but there's no obvious way looking at it, if there was one

I have both. The v12 is in our ADU that is about 800 sq ft. The v15 is in our main house that is 2,600 sq ft. Neither has ever run out of battery but I mostly use them for spot cleaning and not for bedroom carpet much (use a corded vacuum for that).

Overall, I prefer the v12 due to it's lighter weight, and I'm a pretty strong guy, but it's still nice. I would say if you are doing light, regular vacuuming go with the v12. If you are planning to do lots of heavy duty vacuuming go with the v15.

In case it helps anyone, I was not able to use the code when I was trying to use it on my PC (it was copy/pasted from the code I received on my phone). Once I tried from my phone's browser I was able to get the 10% additional discount.
