These can be Internet blocked and still used locally through the router after setup. The main issue is I have had issues with the devices hanging up randomly after I do that like it's freezing up looking for an Internet connection for some reason. Once I reconnect it to the Internet it works flawlessly. Using in home assistant

I have an SSID on my network for IoT exclusively that is only 2.4GHz. Why crowd your 5GHz with IoT devices? It gets crappier range and gives you less bandwidth for your actual devices.

Interesting, maybe it's YMMV? I get an "Additional rewards detail" dropdown in the payment page for this 4 pack when I select my Amazon Prime Visa as the payment method, and the dropdown shows a popup with this verbiage:

"Prime Card Bonus Offer: Get 5% Back, and additional 20% Back on the amount charged to this card"

Unless Spectrum has blocked it in the settings, you can change your router to split bands into 2.4ghz and 5ghz and even 6ghz. Then these devices can connect. I had an issue after ugrading my router as my previous one wasn't able to be detected.

Was just looking and saw the 25% back prime visa. Looked at the other items. Went back a page and everything now changed to 10% back grrr

Great price, but just not worth it to be server dependent, even if it's just for setup. TP-Link has a decent track record so far, but so have many other companies that ultimately pulled the plug a few years later and left customers with a bunch of e-waste.
Inspelning is over 2x the price but still a far better deal since it's 100% local.

I have about 20 Kasa EP10's and got these last time they came up with this offer. Could not activate a single one of them. Tried multiple phones and a tablet - they just did not seem to work. The EP10's have worked out of the box and are picked up by Home Assistant. Have only had one of the Kasa's go bad and it was the earlier model that was huge.

The 4 pack was showing as 10% for me in the afternoon but it shows as 25% now in the late evening after restarting my browser.
