Google Now used to do that about 11 years ago. It would also learn your habits and give you estimated driving times to your next destination when you were about to leave work etc. Some of the stuff it did was borderline creepy, but it was so damn useful. Most of those features are gone at this point.

Worked pretty well last time I used them at the airport. Less well in lower population spaces, but good enough.

on android, folks have to say yes to there location and have to allow for the phone to look for these.
on iOS this is built in, i am not a iphone owner but i think you cannot switch it off.

i belief only tile owners can look for other tile devices.only if the app has been given correct permissions.
The best would be airtags, next would be the ones which work on android or samsung phones.
Then would come tile.

the other day best buy had air tag compatible tags for $11 for 4.

If I'm not mistaken, the other phones around your Tile device have to have the Tile app installed on their phone, which most phones won't have by default. If they don't have the app installed they won't "pass the message" from your Tile device to the Tile network. Seems kind of useless to me, especially compared with AirTags which will communicate with nearly every iOS devices (iPhones and iPads). Since these Moto Tag work with the Google "Find My" network I would assume they would be much better than Tiles since every Android device has the "Find My" app installed.

these have directional finding if you have a compatible phone which helps show direction of the object when close enough (like air tags).

the network would theoretically be bigger... given smart tags can only be found by Samsung phones.
that being said the network is not as big as apples which does have an upper leg here.

I have one in my car. It accurately tells me where I parked the car, since my phone recorded its location just before I walked out of range. If someone who doesn't have a phone steals my car and drives to a remote area where no one will pass by, then I'm guessing the tracker will not be much help to me.
