I bought the 52 lbs for 100 each normal price. One was the old model, the other was a new model. The new model gets stuck on the base quite a bit. But still good enough. So I would ask yourself is it worth spend $70 more to get the bigger size even at normal price?

I've been eyeing these forever but held off. The sticking issue worries me a bit, does it happen often, or just occasionally? Still tempted at $130 for two…

If you don't care about expanding for more weight later on, I actually think these are better than powerblocks.

Same. 25 is not a lot of weight for a grown man. Even in your '60s you should be doing at least 25 if you can.
Depends on one's body type and strength goals. You don't need heavy weight for hypertrophy, 25lbs just takes longer to decrease proximity to muscular failure

Anyone know the dimensions of these things? Also, are these good for the price or would you recommend just going for the tried and true Powerblocks?

The price of dumbbells, and workout equipment in general, is low-key ABSURD.

Do the weights drop off.

I got different one and it keeps falling off risking my toes

I've had these for about a year now using them 3-4 times a week and haven't had any issue with them falling off, they have stuck to tray from time to time but I think was from a build up of dust and dog hair or possibly rushing the adjustment.

This is a great set. Quick and easy to switch weights. Just get the higher weighted set. The max on this one is 25 lbs. the version I got is 50 lbs

Highly depends on the exercise. For pure curls or presses, perhaps, but there are dozens of dumbbell exercises, especially with high reps, decent form, or proper speed and holds that would make a grown man cry if they tried to do them with 25 lbs without working up to them.

Not to mention, if all you are you are doing is curls or presses, you aren't really working out. If you are just slinging the weight back and forth for a few sets, without decent form and slow extensions / retractions, you are wasting your time...regardless of exercise type.

*And I'm not even talking about working out for functional strength.

If you lift with friends and/or family, having another adjustable DB is a nice addition.

This would also pair well for those who have (or are getting) IronMasters with the heavy handle add-on (base weight is 20 lbs).

I've had the 50 lb version of these for a year and use them 3-4 times a week. I've been happy with them and would buy them again. I've had the "stuck" issue (others have mentioned) 3 or 4 times, and have never had any weights fall off while using.
