I would buy this TV. However you should all know Samsung's Tizen OS is very slow. Not glitchy. Slow. They do not source SOCs powerful enough to push Tizen for a smooth experience. If you can deal with that, go ahead. Buy the deal.

A family member was asking about this LG one, but this Samsung seems like a way better deal. Are there any big differences between the two?

What's the difference between the 84F and the 85F? Both show as 2025. Rtings doesn't have the 84F listed.

Samsung shows the 84F, but only in the 77" size: https://www.samsung.com/us/televi.../oled-tvs/

If you use the compare tool on Samsung's site for 84F vs 85F and use the slider to only show differences, the only difference is the price.

Depends on size. For the 65" S84F is WOLED and the S85F is QD-OLED and better processor.
Compared to the 77" both are WOLED. S84F, the S85F adds advanced features including Filmmaker Mode for cinematic viewing, Workout Tracker for fitness feedback, ConnecTime for video calling, and ScreenVitals for wellness monitoring.

From our robot friends "The main difference is that the Samsung S84F is a QD-OLED TV, while the LG C5 is a WOLED TV. QD-OLED panels like the S84F tend to produce more vibrant and saturated colors, especially for animated content and gaming, whereas WOLED panels like the C5 are generally brighter overall, have better motion-handling capabilities, and support Dolby Vision. For most users, the LG C5 is considered the better all-around TV due to its overall brightness, processing, and Dolby Vision support. "

My other half falls asleep all the time with either Fox News on or CNN News. How concerned about burn in should I be? Should I stick with a mini LED

Put a no activity sleep timer on the TV. Now you can enjoy the far superior OLED picture quality without obsessing over burn in.

This. I'm getting the new Apple TV whenever the release it to use on my S90D. It's shocking how bad the OS is. My $150 TCL and Hisense TVs are miles better on performance.

There's built in tech that will help prevent that.

Everybody seems so obsessed with the UI on the TV All I really do is press home and then choose the app and press select. It works fine for that. It's not noticeably slow for basic functions.

However, per rtings.com- costco, sams club and similar wholesale clubs have cheaper/older woled for all sizes. Look it up. So you are gaining just extra warranty and maybe couple useless features vs bestbuy specific model.
