My local home depots have the 16in variant of the Attachment Capable String Trimmer for $149 as clearance. I'd assume it's YMMV but multiple stores have it right now near me.

The best seller and Consumer Reports recommended model is $159 at regular price, so for some it may be worth waiting for a sale on this one below if you're okay with ryobi brand

The big difference is the carbon fiber shaft? The lighter weight is worth it to a lot of people.

Not only the carbon fiber shaft, but brushless motor and 16 inch cutting path as well.

Same state. But I checked the clearance database and found it available in many states. It was posted in Reddit weeks ago. The price went up to $179 today though.

Nah. This one is brushless, with carbon shaft, and adjustable up to 16" path vs 15". $149 is a good deal. I just went to HD and found they still have one with the $149 price label on it. Rang up $179 but price adjusted back to $149. I have 90 days to decide whether to keep it.

I found it I. Westminster CA store #647 it showed 179 on line. But had a tag in the shelf for 149. Had a few left. I did buy 2. As the battery is about equal in price. I guess I am " that guy". Going to try to recover some money selling the parts If I can't. I'm just going to use the parts are replacements. Or the main body for a different expansion tool.
